Cielo is also a Rancho Santa Fe development that borders the covenant of Rancho Santa Fe Homes. So it is in the unincorporated area of Rancho Santa Fe. Cielo is known as a hillside village with one of the highest vantage points East and West to the ocean. It is an extremely private, gated community with a village at the foot of the gates that is open the public. There is no golf course associated with Cielo but other amenities include a pool, play area for children, two tennis courts, and locker room facilities.

As I am writing this strictly from my perspective, the key is that you have to drive down to the foot of Cielo to reach these facilities. If you prefer panoramic views, lots separated from other lots, a feeling of private isolation with views and security that comes with a gated community, Cielo might be for you. I have some clients who are surgeons and they love living there because it makes them feel “away from it all” after a long day of work. Home sights can still be bought there, and huge custom homes are the norm here.
