Santaluz Area and country club do stand out from the rest by design, landscaping and topography. It is a master planned community with home ranging from $1.2 mil to $10 mil. There are two parts of Santaluz. One is the gated community and the other part is a non-gated area of Santa Luz that is more urban in nature and includes shopping centers, condos, town homes and single family dwellings. For our purposes we will focus on the gated Country Club and homes within Santa Luz Country Club. The center of Santaluz is an 11 acre Village Green along which resides the membership owned Hacienda and Santaluz Clubhouse and Spa both of which represent the center of Santaluz social activities.

Golf Course is a 250 acre course with 400 foot Bermuda grass fairways. Rees Jones designed the course to complement the lands natural assets. The course does have views all the way to the Pacific Ocean.

Communities Near Santaluz

 

When the market took a turn, Santaluz was one of the first communities hardest hit. Part of that was because the Mello Roos Tax that is attached to most properties in the community. Mello Roos is a tax that is attached to some developments around San Diego with the purpose of the tax ranging from school funding, park funding to an array of reasons. Usually Mello Roos Tax is a 30 or 40 year monthly tax assessed on top of property taxes.

The homes offered here range from adobe style homes in the center of Santaluz near the park and Village to massive sprawling properties on acreage. Santaluz is one of the newer master planned gated communities in San Diego. One advantage of living here is the close proximity to the business sections of downtown, downtown La Jolla, Rancho Santa Fe and Carmel Valley.
