San Diego Restaurant openings in September through December

Look froward to these fantastic Restaurant openings in San Diego from this month through the holiday season.

There is no easy way to say this, summer is gone, but lucky you, you’re in San Diegowhere you have good weather the whole year round!  So no need to be sad because there is ALWAYS a good reason to smile in America’s finest city!  Between the best happy hour schedules and restaurants with the best oceanic views, there is no comparison to how wonderful this place truly is! There are many restaurants in San Diego that have been here forever and some have been fairly new. And as I am a definite “foodie”, I like to find out what else are out there and I came across some restaurants that are soon to invade San Diego.

Here are some restaurant openings you can look forward to:

Pop Pie Co.

Address: 4404 Park Boulevard, University Heights

Love pies? Located in the University Heights business corridor of Park Boulevard is yet to be discovered.  A promise of goodness in an artistic, handmade luscious pies. Offers to serve breakfast, lunch and dinners that will satisfy every cravings you have for pie. Whether you want some savory meat, vegetarian and vegan pies. Pop Pie Co is a promising establishment and will be a great addition. Can’t wait to try it!


Buona Forchetta

 Address: 2880 Sims Road, Liberty Station & 250 N Coast Hwy 101, Encinitas 
PROJECTED OPENING:  September and November

Buona Forchetta started in 2011 in an effort to bring some of his native Italy to  South Park and since then, this Italian eatery’s success keeps growing, opting  to start a new venture in two more locations. One currently  in progress at Liberty Station and another in North County in November. 

They are ready to dazzle along with  Sofia, their golden baby, a handmade oven  made by the maestro Stefano Ferrara using materials that are capable of withstanding the high temperatures of 700 to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. Get ready for some real Italian treat!


Yakitori Hino

Address: 7420 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, Kearny Mesa

Yakitori Taisho started in 2014. It is a part of the family of restaurants including Yakitori Yakyudori and Hinotez.  This cozy place made some impact on the epicures as these delicious skewered item on grills are to die for. The new eatery opening on September takes on Taisho’s high quality skewers that will surely satisfy your cravings but will also keep you coming back for more.

Harvest by The Patio

Address: 369 Tenth Ave, East Village

Opening on the former Table No. 10 location in October, the Patio Group is putting up their first location on the East Village. The acclaimed Chef Antonio Friscia is directing the menu. Offering food for the health conscious and allows them to eat without hesitation on a menu that will include salads, grains,  sandwiches, and fresh juice. Guaranteed healthy treats made from locally sourced fresh ingredients. Don’t miss out on this!


Good Time Poke/The Grass Skirt

Address: 910 Grand Avenue, Pacific Beach

Get ready for some Hawaiian feels with some tiki drinks and poke. The daytime restaurant called the Good Time Poké hides the entrance  to The Grass Skirt,  the nighttime tiki bar. Executive chef Brian Redzikowski will create the menus for both restaurants offering healthy food designed for adventurous eaters featuring poké bowls using high quality fish and much more.

Flower Child

Address: 2690 Via De La Valle, Del Mar

Was originally founded in Arizona, made its way to California and opens its 2nd restaurant in Del Mar and will soon be located at the former Sea & Smoke in Flower Hill Promenade. The restaurant starts with Flower Child’s fundamental promise to serve healthy food for a happy world offering menus that will include salads, grains, bowls, plates, wraps, and proteins. Take your self and your loved ones for a good dine out and eat healthy!

Address: 550 J Street, Gaslamp

The Pendry aims to be more than a just a hotel to sleep in. This hotel has both the modern and traditional vibe has everything you need and offers an all-day cafe, beer hall, lobby bar, and nightlife venue. Lionfish is opening in the Gaslamp by December features  Chef Jose “JoJo” Ruiz, who is marked as one of the nation’s top fifty ‘Young Guns” by Eater National 2015. Enjoy a flavorful choices of prime meats and fresh seafood.
