Bay Pointe Golf Course and Country Club is a Hidden Gem of Country Clubs outside of Jackson Mississippi.
Bay Pointe Country Club is a perfect golf course to challenge yourself while visiting in Mississippi.
Bay Pointe Club was built in 1964 and is unique collection of 18 hole championship holes designed by Geoffrey Cornish. This a perfect stop for some “Southern Golfin” that is scenic, challenging and a nice way to pass some time in the South.
Playing to a par 70 for the men, the course is rated 70.9 and sloped 122 from the back tees. The overall yardage may feel a bit short but it plays longer and challenges your short game, your tree game, water game and even your game while having alligators watching! Set in a swamp, the sandy base soil allows maximum drainage for off season golf, making it great for even a great winter golf retreat.
I played it twice, from the white tees with my fiancé’s family and with three super long hitters to compete against, playing the whites challenged my game mentally and physically. only one sleeve of balls lost per day, I came out ahead, having a great time playing a fun, challenging course. Bay Pointe is located in a golf course community outside of Brandon Mississippi which is where Jackson State University is located. Big college town, and medical center to the South, you will surely be well educated and healthy living her..(if you can avoid Primose Desert House.) Best donuts east of Texas and their motto is ” Southern Cooking for City Folk.”
Bay Pointe Country Club has the “Country Club Privacy Feel” with everyone knowing each other but is open to the public.
Bay Pointe Country Club sits adjacent Pelahatchie Creek which is a famous fishing, boating and gator watching spot. Not only are you challenged by the course itself, you also have a wild habitat to keep you occupied while you are playing. For more pictures, take a look at the holes through our pic lens gallery:
